Last year, one of the posts I enjoyed writing the most was author biographies. From both a reader's standpoint and writing posts, I think it's fascinating to take a deeper look into the author’s life. As my first book of the year, and one of my most anticipated, Annie John written by Jamaica Kincaid was first on my list.

Imagine our world and hundreds more stacked together like sheets of paper in a notebook. There may be some differences, some changes in composition and outcome but they are similar enough you could almost flip to any page and recognize the world. Recognize yourself. 

Intensely raw and visceral.  Every time I pick up a book by Kang, I’m left satisfied. Every time I finish a  book by Kang, I’m left thinking.
